SIN - CONCEPT

SIN - CONCEPT

VALDEMIR MOTA DE MENEZES

In the Hebrew Scriptures we find the following words usually found with the sense of sin:

hatah - means basically to err, to be guilty;
heth '- error, failure;
awon - iniquity;
pesha - offense.
The prophets of the Hebrew Scriptures, sin is more of a violation of rules, but it does mean the breakup of a personal relationship with God. This can be observed in Is.59.2:

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that He will not hear. Thus, in the Hebrew Scriptures is clear that sin is seen as a direct transgression of God's law, as evidenced by a moral error that is guilty before God
